Recipes of Salads

FRENCH TOMATO RING:

Cooking time- 10minutes

You will need:

  • 575 ml of fresh tomato pulp
  • 1 clove garlic or 1 chopped onion
  • ½ tsp celery salt
  • 20 gms Gelatine
  • Cheese or meat
  • Bay leaf
  • Clove
  • Salt and pepper
  • Hot water
  • Salad

METHOD

  1. Cook the tomato pulp with flavouring and seasoning and, when well flavoured, rub through a coarse sieve.
  2. Dissolve gelatine in the water and mix all together with cooked tomato pulp.
  3. Put into a border mould and allow to set.
  4. Turn out by dipping quickly 2 or 3 times in hot water.
  5. Serve with fresh green salad and diced cheese or meat in centre of ring.
