NINTH WEEK

By the end of 9th week baby measures about 3 cms in length and weighs about two grams. The head continues to fall on the chest. Development at this stage includes:

  • Completion of the development of the eyes but the eyelids are still intact.
  • Continued development of the inner parts of the ear.
  • Early development of the nose.
  • Continued development of the mouth.
  • Upper and lower limbs become visible along with toes and fingers developing at their ends.
  • Movement of the spine become more obvious but you cannot feel them at this time.
