
FOLLICLE STIMULATING HORMONE (FSH)
Clinical significance
FSH is a hormone secreted by anterior pituitary gland. In women, FSH is
responsible for the growth and maturation of ovarian follicles.
Clinical applications
- Prediction of response to super ovulatory drugs.
- Diagnosis of ovulatory disorders
- Ovulation prediction
- Work up of a case of infertility
- Along with LH in predicting ovarian
hyperstimulation syndrome (OHS).
