HIGH FIBRE EATING PLAN
A high fibre-eating pattern may be
prescribed for people suffering from constipation, diverticulitis, gallstones, piles and
some other conditions. However, a high fibre-eating pattern is beneficial to everyone,
especially for those endeavoring to lose weight, decrease cholesterol levels, control
diabetes and perhaps aid in the control of blood pressure.
Note: for a few people who have specific
medical problems, which affect kidney function and those who have renal disease, it may be
dangerous to increase the potassium content of their diet. These people should consult
their doctor or dietitian before altering their diet. This also applies in the case of the
use of potassium chloride as a salt substitute.
