PLAN
To reduce weight you need to find a good
eating pattern that suits your way of life. It is important to realize that weight control
requires a healthy eating pattern for the rest of your life. Crash diets, if successful,
are only a temporary solution as you usually regain weight after you come off the diet.
You need to restrict your energy intake by following an appropriate eating pattern. When
you have lost weight you can continue to follow the same eating pattern with the addition
of a few extra foods to maintain your new reduced weight.
Find foods, which you enjoy eating and
are good for you. You are more likely to maintain your weight loss if you lose weight
gradually (1-2 kg/ mth) than if you follow a crash program of weight loss. Exercise makes
it much easier to lose weight. It does not need to be strenuous. Walking is a good idea
and you can make it part of your daily routine.
